My Dream Place...

Looking at this picture, I'm sure all of you know it. Yeah, it is none other than the tall and beautiful Paris Eiffel Tower!!! Paris is also known as the city of love which is being visited by many people around world. I don't know why but I'm just so in love with this place and badly want to visit it in future. Hehe. It can be described as my dream place too. Most of us know that it is one of the world's wonders and it's famous, but I don't think we might know its great history. What's the mystery behind this tall tower?

So, let's check out some fascinating facts about Eiffel Tower.

The Eiffel Tower is an iron lattice tower located on the Champ de Mars in Paris, France. Eiffel Tower was named after the engineer Alexandre Gustave Eiffel, whose company designed and built the tower. It is 324 metres (1,063 ft) tall, about the same height as an 81-storey building and weighs 10,100 tonnes. The tower was started to be built on January 28, 1887 and was completed on March 31, 1889. It was the tallest man-made structure for 41 years, until the completion of Chrysler Building in New York in 1930. It is possible to climb to the top, but there are 1,665 steps. Most people take the lift. Surprisingly, the tower shrinks by about 6 inches during cold weather. Repainting the tower every year, which happens every seven years, requires 60 tonnes of paint. Wow, that's a really large amount I guess. Furthermore, there are 20,000 lightbulbs used on the Eiffel Tower to make it sparkle every night.

View from the top of the Eiffel Tower
Restaurant in the Eiffel Tower

The tower has three levels for visitors, with restaurants for the first and second. The third level observatory's platform is 276m (906 ft) above the ground, the highest accessible to the public in the European Union. Today, the tower welcomes almost 7 million people a year, making it the most visited paid-for monument in the world. The tower received it 250 millionth visitor in 2010.

By now, I think you will be shocked and mesmerized with the interesting facts behind this tower. So, you couldn't possibly visit Paris without seeing the Eiffel Tower. Even if you do no want to visit this world famous structure, you will see its top from all over Paris. Therefore, don't miss the chance to visit it.

Finally, I guess that's all I wanted to share about my dream place. I hope my dream will come true one day. It will be even sweet if I could visit it with my love. I love you Eiffel Tower!!! Je'taime le tour eiffel <3

2. Less can be more. It is not necessary that you have to exercise for an hour to reap the benefits. You can actually exercise regularly even when you have a jam-packed day. For example, you can do 4 minutes of kettle bell exercise, 4 minutes of abs work and 2 minutes of squats and lunges.

3. Learn some super quick recipes. Sometimes you will be busy and arrive home at late night. To avoid you from consuming unhealthy convenience food like instant noodles, learn some quick recipes that can be done instantly. For example, a turkey steak with a feta and beetroot salad is a healthy meal that can be prepared in less than 10 minutes.

4. Use the loudspeaker of your mobile if get any long calls and get active. Getting out of the office and going for a walk somewhere quiet can be a great way to get some exercise without losing concentration whilst on the phone. Pacing in the office whilst on the phone can help you keep active and healthy.

5. Keep stock of optimum foods. Your diet will suffer when you're too busy and pizzas, takeaways and vending machines can become too much of a regular occurrence. If you don't have time to meditate or take a hot bath, studies have found that laughter can help us to relax and reduce stress. So, take a look at some funny Youtube videos to to help you unwind.

9. Do supersets. Super-setting can cut your exercise time by 50 percent because instead of having rest periods between sets, you can do alternative exercise that rests the muscles you have just trained and exercises the opposite one, before you begin the next set. For instance, once you've worked on your stomach, work out your lower back.

10. Live an active lifestyle. If you don't have time for gym or dance classes, incorporate exercise into your daily life even when your schedule is packed. For example, do some gardening with your partner on your date night, carry your shopping home rather than taking a cab and go swimming with a friend instead of meeting for a coffee.

Benefits of Blogging

Hey people...Today almost everyone has their own blog. Am I right? Have you ever thought of how useful can blogs be to a person? Today, there are over 150 million blogs on the Internet, which makes for pretty big growth. Nowadays, having a blog is almost commonplace and created for many purposes such as personal, business, schools, non-profits and politics.

So, I think you might have caught my point. I'm just going to share 5 important benefits of blogging for the everyday person and even for the new users. Here you go:

  1. A blog can be an online profile

  • Companies today which are linked to the technology niche are researching the online profiles of the prospective candidates for position vacancies. This allows companies to execute a more targeted search for talent and recruit experienced applicants. Hence, blogging can be a good platform to job applicants and employees who want to showcase their portfolio, work experience and knowledge.

     2.   A blog is an opportunity to make money
  • Today, bloggers can make money via ad space (think GoogleAdSense ads), affiliate programmes, eBooks sales, speaking fees, private ad sales or sponsored reviews and selling a product/service. Not only that, blogs can offer part-time income, even helping many families earn money with a stay-at-home parent.

     3.  Writing in a blog improves one's writing skills
  • There are only two ways to become a better writer- either by reading or writing regularly. An active blogger will regularly produce thousands of posts each week, and as we know, practice makes perfect. The more you write, the more organized ideas you can gain.

     4.  With a blog, feedback is easy to get
  • Blogs with an active and loyal readership or community can be a great way of getting feedback. No matter where you are in life, what you are experiencing, or the hardships ahead of you, there is someone in the online community who can relate to you.For example, the personal finance community is littered with bloggers who started websites to document their journey to becoming debt-free. By reporting their progress to their readers, they are able to get feedback from others in similar situations as well as maintain a sense of accountability

     5.  A blog is an easy way of establishing a contact network
  • By sharing your experiences, knowledge and insights, you can establish yourself as an expert or authority figure within a niche or industry. Once you start to become known as an industry expert, you can start to grow your professional network by introducing yourself to other industry professionals and influencers.

That's all. I hope that you have got some useful information here. Happy blogging !!! :)

One English Day With Us

Hey everyone, now I would like to share about my English camp. Let me tell you briefly about this camp. This camp was organized by my group students which was named as "One English Day With Us" or known as 1 EDU. This camp for conducted for around 100 Year 5 students of SK Jati, Ipoh to enhance their skills in communicating and writing in English. We traveled to the school from our university around 5.00 am and reached SK Jati at 7.20 am.

As soon as we reached, the registration unit prepared the files and button badges that needed to be given to the students. Then, their attendance were took as well. At 8.00 am, ice breaking session were held. The students were arranged randomly in 10 different groups with two facilitators. I was one of the facilitators too. After that, we were required to guide the students, interact with them and create a group cheer. The students were very enthusiastic and energetic to create their group cheer. Around 9.00 am, it was breakfast time before the explorace was held.

The students were acting on the stage

The explorace comprised of  5 stations with different activities such as solving word puzzles, tongue twisters and word search. The group which finished the explorace first will be the winner. I saw the students were very excited and did all the activities with full energy. The explorace finished around 12.00 pm. Then, the facilitators did some aerobics dance so that the students would not feel bored. Lunch and prayer time were given from 1.00 to 2.30 pm. After lunch, the last activity called complete the story was carried out. Each group were shown a video of moral value till a certain time. After watching, the students were required to continue the story with their own imagination and creativity. They need to act out on stage and complete the story. The students really enjoyed and had fun as they need to act.

After the last activity, we had prize-giving ceremony for all the students and closing ceremony as well. The closing ceremony was officiated by the school principal. She congratulated all of us for doing a great job teaching English for the students and also welcomed us to organize more camps like this in future. Around 4.30 pm, the programme was ended with a tea break and all of us went back home.

Even though there were many ups and downs before the camp, we managed to do a great job and gave full cooperation to make the camp successful. I personally enjoyed being one of the facilitators and had fun teaching the school students. Overall, it was great and useful experience for everyone as we learnt ways to conduct a camp and the importance of teamwork to make something successful.

That's all of my camp story. See you in my next post :)

FLORATHON 2013

Let me continue about this event called Florathon. This was a nature project organized by SMK Methodist ACS, Ipoh. The project was started in Octobe 2012 and was themed "Let's Green The Earth". I was one of the volunteers of the project. As you can see in the picture, we created the largest flower formation which measured 50 metres in length and 35 metres in width. We used 31,000 plants of four colours, thar are red, green, orange and yellow.

(right photo. l-r) Dr. D. Karthiresan, Principal Soot, Dato Roshidi and MBR
representative Dr R Subramaniam
Why did I mentioned this event as significant in my previous post? This project was a great success and brought pride as ACS Ipoh carved its name into Malaysia Book of Records (MBR) for the third time on August 29, 2013. The VIPs who were present on that morning to verify and officiate the effort into the Malaysia Book of Records included Ipoh Mayor Dato' Roshidi Hashim, Perak Education Director Tn Hj Muhamat Roli Hj Hassan and North Kinta District Education Officer Tn Hj Marazlen. The representative for MBR was Dr R. Subramaniam Rama Naidu. This project was held to instill in students a love for the environment as well as to foster unity among the different races. Our principal said that it was a part of education process for students to be aware of their individual potential to create record for themselves so that when they leave the school they will be confident of their abilities.

The project coordinator was Dr D. Karthiresan. All of us in the entire school participated by filling poly bags with earth and helping transfer the plants to the school field two weeks earlier. My friends and I even turned up during the weekends and holidays to help out in the formation.

Last but not least, this project gave a lot of useful experience to everyone. I felt proud to be part of the project and happy that I have contributed something for nature.

Friends for Life

Friends play an important role in everyone's life. Friends are always there for you especially when you need them the most. They know you better than you know yourself, and you don't even have to tell them anything, and they will know exactly what you're thinking. So, yeah I have best friends too. I am just going to share some stories about my friendship

These girls in the picture above are my three lovely besties, coursemates, housmates and also partners in crime. The first one is Siti Khairani Qalbi, me in blue, in green is Santhiyah and lastly is Jhanani. Currently, these is my best friends in UPSI. Since I came studying at UPSI, they are the ones who make me happy and smile even though at times I can't. Even though I'm older than them, we have no borders or barriers in our friendship. We have a lot of fun and crazy times together. I can be myself always when I'm around with them. They know the real me and love me for it.

Although we have problems and fights at times, we never give up on each other and still manage to overcome it. We help each other whenever we do any assignments or any work. Not only that, if anyone of us has problems, we share it and give advice to each other just like sisters. In these 15 months of friendship, we have so many memories together. There is only one more semester for us, then we will finish our diploma and go to different pathways. I am sure that I will miss them.

To me, having many friends is not necessary. Having a small circle of true friends who are always honest and stay by your side no matter what happens is the most important part. Good friends are hard to find, harder to leave and impossible to forget.  Dear best friends, I just want to thank you for being awesome, for always being there and for always making me feel happy. I love you guys so much. Hope that our friendship lasts forever.

That's all about my university friends. Updating blog all this while was indeed fun. Hahaxxx. Nitez people :D

Food Heaven

Food, food and food. We, Malaysians surely love to try new cuisines and delicacies all the time. Our country has variety of food which even attracts the tourists worldwide to try it out. Everyone knows that Penang is known as food paradise in Malaysia. However, many of us might not know this. Ipoh is also one of the food heaven which has abundance of good food available and worth to be explored.

As I am from Ipoh, I have tried some of the famous cuisines here which are really delicious and you should try too. Here is a guide on where to eat in Ipoh, featuring five of my personal favourites.

 1. Bean Sprout Chicken
    Lou Wong Bean Sprout Chicken.
    49, Jalan Yau Tet Shin
  • This restaurant is the most famous in town for its chicken bean sprout. Using free-range chicken, Lou Wong’s steamed chicken’s skin had this slippery smooth texture and tender yet firm flesh. Slurping on the smooth hor fun and crunchy bean sprouts, together with the tangy chilli and tender chicken, it will surely make a perfect lunch for you. Oh, this is also a good supper venue as they close at 12am.

2. Golden Char Kway Teow
Corner of Jalan Bandar Timah-Jalan Panglima
  • Those of you who love char kway teow will surely love this. This mouth-watering char kway teow comes with a pretty egg on top. Perhaps that’s the reason why they call it golden. This noodles contains of few prawns and cockles which has reasonable price.

Rojak
3. Rojak
  • I know most of us surely love to eat rojak. I went to this shop once to have supper with my friends. The claypot chicken rice is actually famous there, but we just wanted a small bite and went for a rojak instead. This plate of rojak is full of grounded peanuts. The rojak sauce is very thick with well balanced flavours. Moreover, I liked the addition of crunchy prawn crackers, which gave a totally different texture to the dish.

    2, Jalan Yang Kalsom
  • There are many nasi kandar outlets in Ipoh, but this is the best I can say. Nasi Kandar Ayam Merah is one of the most popular Nasi Vanggey outlet. During lunch time, it is always packed with hungry people and tables would be occupied. A standard plate would be ayam merah, sambal kelapa & salted egg topped with some achar. For me, its seriously addictive as the combination is really tasty.

Garlic Naan
5. Palak Paneer
15-17 Jalan Dato Seri Ahmad Said
  • If you are craving to eat north indian cuisine, Pakeeza will be the best place as it is the favouite place for good indian food. Palak paneer is one of the best dishes served there. Besides that, you can try a lot more delicacies such as briyani rice, tandoori chicken, garlic naan, lassi and many more. For those who love indian food, I am sure it will be a memorable place for you.

Mesmerized with the variety of food? Certainly you should be. So, don't miss the chance guys. Food is happiness for some people. Visit Ipoh now and enjoy the amazing experience by eating the cuisines here.

It is ou can have a great time here and it’s definitely not meant only for kids.  an exciting place for the weekend just to chill and relax. No doubt y

You can also enjoy the street arts by looking at the mural paintings by famous street artist like Ernest Zacharevic and some other locals. While walking in the lanes, you can enjoy drinking coffee and eating local food too.

  • You can also visit Gunung Lang to enjoy the great nature in Ipoh. You can enjoy the short boat ride with very reasonable prices. Animal lovers, you can feed the fish and turtles that congregate around the jetty. Plus, you can even have picnics there and have a relaxing moment with your family.

  • For those who wants to have a cave adventure, you can surely visit Gua Tempurung, which is located in Gopeng. It is about 3 km long, which is one of the longest caves in Peninsular Malaysia. Within the short 1.5 hours, you have to slide down a steep sand slope of more than 3 metres high, duck underneath low cave ceilings and even swim across the cold water. Hence, this will be a great place for those who loves adventures and challenges.

Boys Over Flowers

Looking at the picture above, have you guys got any idea what am I going to tell? Yes! I'm going to share about a favourite korean drama of mine, that is "Boys Over Flowers". First of all, let me introduce all of them. The guy from left wearing red jacket is Kim Joon, beside him is Kim Bum, the followed by Lee Min-ho, Ku Hye-sun and lastly is Kim Hyun-joong.

So, I would like to tell a brief plot of this story.

Hardworking Geum Jan Di (Ku Hye-sun) attends the exclusive Shinhwa High School by a scholarship she gets because of an incident. She finds her shallow, privileged classmates unbearable, especially the notorious F4. Rich, handsome, and arrogant, Gu Jun Pyo (Lee Min-ho), Yoon Ji Hoo (Kim Hyun-joong), So Yi Jung (Kim Bum), and Song Woo Bin (Kim Joon) are the kings of the school and no one, not even the teachers, dare challenge them. No one, that is, except Jan Di. Angry at their rudeness, Jan Di tells off F4's leader Joon Pyo, bringing a world of trouble upon herself.
The proud and persistent Joon Pyo falls hard for feisty Jan Di, but she shares a connection with the quiet, sensitive Ji Hoo.

Through Jan Di's encouragement, Ji Hoo goes abroad to join his model girlfriend Min Seo-hyun, and in his absence, Jan Di and Joon Pyo grow closer. Soon Jan Di realizes that it is Joon Pyo that she really loves, not Ji Hoo. But numerous difficulties arise, threatening their relationship. Joon Pyo's mother, a cruel and selfish businesswoman, who is also the President of Shinhwa group, disapproves of Jan Di's lowly upbringing and tries her best to split them up. And newly single Ji Hoo returns to Korea, prepared to declare his feelings for Jan Di. He comes when Jun Pyo is announcing in the school about Jan Di being his girlfriend. Somehow Ji-Hoo pretends to be Jan Di's boyfriend, which develops conflicts between him and Joon Pyo. But, Joon Pyo finds out that Ji Hoo likes Jan Di, so problems begin.

What are the problems? And what happens at the end? Who will own Jan Di at last? Pretty interesting right, haha. So, if you can't control your suspense, please watch this drama and I'm sure you will enjoy it.

There will be more from my live, laugh and love. Bye.

Chocolate lovers

I'm sure most of you would love to eat chocolates, won't you? In fact, I'm one of the chocolate lovers too. I just love everything with chocolate. Some people will say that eating too much of chocolate is unhealthy as it contains fat and sugar. However, chocolates does good stuff that you didn't know about all this while. You can enjoy its benefits if you do not go overboard.

So, here are the 7 reasons why chocolate is healthy:

1. It's loaded with antioxidants which can be found in fruits and vegetables as well.

2. It helps ladies through PMS. Chocolates releases endorphins that reduces anxiety besides having high magnesium.

3. It may lower cholesterol. A small study have found that daily consumption cocoa flavanol-containing dark chocolate lowered cholesterol and improved blood pressure.

4. It may prevent pregnancy complications. A new study reports that a chemical (theobromine) found in chocolate may reduce preeclampsia, a major pregnancy complication. It helps to lower the risk by up to 69 percent. Wow, take notes ladies...

5. Chocolates help prevent heart diseases. Eat dark chocolates, as it is linked to a property in its polyphenols that releases a chemical messenger, nitric oxide which improves blood flow and reduces platelet aggregation.

6. Chocolates may improve your skin. Studies have shown that the compounds in chocolate act as UV filters.

7. Lastly, it may even reduce pain. However, eat moderately as this pain-killing effect could contribute to obesity.

Form 6 Memories

That's my class picture when I studied Form 6 in Anglo Chinese School (ACS), Ipoh. This was taken 2 weeks after we have entered ACS for lower 6. I studied since June 2013 till March 2014. I stopped doing my Form 6 after I had got offer to pursue diploma course in UPSI. Even though it was a short period of studying there, I got so much of experience and the memories were unforgettable. At first, I felt a bit awkward to study there because I studied both primary and secondary in girls school. Since ACS was a boys school, I was not used to it and felt shy to talk with my guy classmates.

However, as time goes, I started to discover that they were very friendly and helpful. They respect all the girls just like their own family members. When it comes to any homework or assignments, none of them will hesitate to help. The teachers in ACS  were also very caring and dedicated to their job. As you can see in the picture, my class teacher is Puan Lee. Even though she was very strict, she cared for all of us like her own children and helped us a lot anytime we needed her. She always decribed my class as "ohana", which means family. This created a very good understanding and friendship bond between us. And the great part is we are still in contact till now.

There's never a day that I felt like not going to school. Although our subjects were very tough, we managed to study hard besides having fun with each other. One of the sweetest moment is when I had a twin sister, Anne, in my class, whose birth date was same as mine. So, my friends made a surprise birthday for the both of us. That was an unforgettable memory. Furthermore, there were many events and programmes that I participated such as sports day, cultural night, prefects night and KRS camp. The most memorable and important event of ACS was Florathon 2013.

What's so special about this Florathon? I'm sure you will be wondering right? Haha, so keep looking forward till I continue this story in my next post. See you...;)
